New Mercedes Maybach S Class Launched at Rs 3.35 Crore: Here’s What You Get

Mercedes Benz has launched the 2026 Mercedes Maybach S Class in India at Rs 3.35 crore (ex showroom). The facelift arrives in the S 580e plug-in hybrid guise.

Only 30 units have been allocated for the first batch. The updated Maybach reaches India around six months after its global unveiling. It also becomes the first Maybach model in India with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. For buyers at this price, the biggest changes are inside the cabin and beneath the bonnet.

2026 Mercedes Maybach S Class: Price and Powertrain

The India spec Maybach S 580e combines a 3.0 litre petrol engine with an electric motor and 22kWh battery. Mercedes claims a total system output of 585hp and 750Nm of torque. All wheel drive comes as standard.

The Mercedes car can travel up to 98km using electric power alone. It can also reach 140kmph in electric mode. Charging support includes an 11kW AC onboard charger and up to 60kW DC fast charging.

What’s New Inside the Maybach S Class?

The 2026 Mercedes Maybach S Class focuses heavily on rear seat comfort and technology. It comes with a four seat layout and executive rear seats as standard. These seats can recline up to 43 degrees.

Rear passengers also get heating, ventilation and massage functions. Two smartphone style remotes replace the earlier tablet style controller.

Exterior Design and Buyer Perspective

The facelift gets a larger illuminated grille with Maybach’s signature vertical slats. The bonnet also gets an illuminated Mercedes star.

New headlamps feature three pointed star DRLs and rose gold detailing. The car also gets new forged alloy wheel designs. The Maybach remains 180mm longer than the long wheelbase S Class. This extra length benefits rear seat occupants.

The Mercedes Maybach S Class sits in the ultra luxury sedan segment. Its rivals include the Bentley Flying Spur and Range Rover.

At Rs 3.35 crore, the new Maybach targets buyers who prioritise rear seat luxury over driving involvement. Its limited first batch also makes availability a key consideration.
