Maruti Victoris Spare Wheel Accessory Now Available For All Variants
Google News

Maruti Suzuki has introduced a genuine spare wheel accessory for the Victoris. The accessory is available for petrol, CNG and strong hybrid variants. It comes after many buyers questioned the absence of a standard spare wheel.
When the Victoris launched, Maruti replaced the spare wheel with a puncture repair kit. The decision complied with current regulations but received mixed reactions from customers.
The company has now given buyers the option to purchase a spare wheel separately. However, it will not be included as standard equipment.
Spare Wheel Available At Extra Cost
Maruti Suzuki is offering the spare wheel assembly through its genuine accessories programme. The wheel component is priced at Rs. 2,350 across all Victoris variants. Additional mounting brackets and installation parts are required. Their prices differ depending on the chosen powertrain. The different layouts of petrol, CNG, and hybrid models require separate hardware.
Petrol variants need the fewest additional parts. CNG and strong hybrid versions require extra brackets and modifications. The luggage board also needs trimming to accommodate the spare wheel. The accessory package includes only the wheel assembly and mounting equipment. Buyers must purchase the spare tyre separately at an additional cost.
Why The Spare Wheel Was Removed?
Current government regulations allow manufacturers to remove the spare wheel under certain conditions. Vehicles equipped with tubeless tyres, TPMS and a puncture repair kit qualify for this exemption.
Maruti adopted this approach to reduce weight and optimise luggage space. However, many Indian buyers still prefer carrying a spare wheel for added peace of mind. The new accessory allows customers to choose based on their driving requirements. Those travelling long distances can now add a spare wheel if needed.
Puncture Repair Kit Has Its Limits
Puncture repair kits offer a quick and convenient solution for minor tyre damage. Drivers do not need to lift the vehicle or replace the wheel manually. The kit injects sealant into the damaged tyre using a compact air compressor. This seals small punctures and allows the journey to continue.
However, the repair remains temporary. The recommended driving distance is around 200 km. Drivers should also avoid speeds above 80 kmph after using the kit. The sealant cannot repair sidewall damage or major tyre cuts. In such situations, a spare wheel remains the only practical solution.
With this new accessory, Maruti Suzuki offers Victoris owners greater flexibility. Buyers can now decide whether they prefer the convenience of a repair kit or the added security of carrying a spare wheel.
