Maruti Suzuki Cuts Victoris SUV Prices
Google News

Maruti Suzuki has officially reduced the ex-showroom prices of Victoris for some petrol variants by up to Rs. 39,000. This highly unusual pricing revision comes despite the mid-size SUV maintaining a healthy and consistent sales performance across the country.
Target Variants and Price Adjustments
The manufacturer restricted this sudden price drop specifically to the higher-spec mild-hybrid petrol models. The price strategy aims to balance different powertrain configurations in the lineup.
- Trims Impacted: Only the ZXi (O) and ZXi Plus (O) trim options received this price downward adjustment.
- Transmission Adjustments: The price cut applies to both the 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic configurations within these specific trims.
- Maximum Reduction: Eligible buyers will save a uniform Rs. 38,900 on the ex-showroom price of these four variants.
- Unchanged Lineup: Entry-level LXi, VXi, standard ZXi trims, and all FWD variants carry no price adjustments.
Standing of Hybrid and CNG Trims
While standard petrol trims received direct price cuts, Maruti Suzuki continues to approach alternative fuels through direct customer incentives.
- No Direct Price Cuts: The manufacturer left the base ex-showroom retail prices of all CNG and strong-hybrid variants unchanged.
- Alternative Incentives: Hybrid and CNG versions continue to attract promotional benefits and customer discounts of up to Rs. 90,000.
- Feature Advantage: As the Arena flagship, the Victoris remains unique with advanced features like ADAS, a powered tailgate and an underbody CNG tank.
This strategic move marks a rare occurrence where a high-volume product becomes cheaper without a visible drop in customer demand. Maruti Suzuki appears to be fine-tuning its wide variant mix to make its mid-tier petrol variants significantly more attractive. The lower price point protects market share against a growing number of rival mid-size SUVs. This calculated adjustment ensures steady factory production while keeping the entire vehicle range highly competitive for buyers.
