Mahindra Thar Facelift Launch Today: What To Expect, What New is Coming?

Mahindra will launch its most loved SUV, the Thar facelift, in India today, September 22, 2026. The updated 3 door SUV is expected to get design and feature changes. Mahindra is likely to reveal the final price and complete details during the launch.

The facelift could make the Thar more appealing to buyers seeking a lifestyle SUV for city use and weekend trips. The current model already offers petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic options. The update is expected to retain its core mechanical package while adding several modern features.

Mahindra Thar Facelift Design Changes

The Thar facelift is expected to retain its existing petrol and diesel engine lineup. The range could include 1.5 litre and 2.2 litre diesel engines. The 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine produces 152hp and 300Nm. Its torque output rises to 320Nm with the automatic gearbox.

The diesel engines produce 119hp and 132hp, with 300Nm of torque. Transmission options include six speed manual and automatic gearboxes, depending on the engine.

The facelift is expected to cost between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (ex showroom). The final price will be important for buyers comparing it with other lifestyle SUVs.
