2026 Mahindra Thar 3 Door BIG UPDATE: Launch Likely On August 15

Mahindra is likely to unveil the 2026 Mahindra Thar three door on August 15 at its annual Freedom Drive event. The facelift could bring major upgrades to the lifestyle SUV while retaining its familiar rugged design.

The expected changes focus on safety, cabin technology, comfort and styling. This could make the Mahindra Thar more appealing for daily driving. It could also help the brand respond to rising expectations from buyers.

2026 Mahindra Thar To Get ADAS

The biggest expected upgrade is an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems suite. Recent test mules feature a front facing camera behind the windshield.

The expected ADAS functions include:

• Forward Collision Warning
• Autonomous Emergency Braking
• Lane Departure Warning
• Lane Keep Assist
• Adaptive Cruise Control

These features would bring the three door Thar closer to the Thar Roxx and Scorpio N. They could also improve driving confidence during highway trips.

Digital Cabin And Premium Audio

The facelifted Thar is expected to replace its analogue instrument cluster with a 10.25 inch fully digital TFT display.

The display could show navigation guidance, off road information, fuel efficiency figures and vehicle alerts. Multiple layouts could also allow drivers to customise the screen.

The SUV is also expected to get a Harman Kardon audio system. This could make the cabin more appealing for buyers spending more time inside the SUV.

Roxx Inspired Styling And Better Comfort

The exterior could receive several updates while retaining the Thar's boxy design.

• Revised front and rear bumpers
• Dual tone five spoke alloy wheels
• Redesigned LED tail lamps

The wheels could measure 18 inches, while higher trims may get 19 inch options. Mahindra is also expected to add ventilated front seats. This feature is already available on the Thar Roxx.

Automatic climate control could replace the current manual AC setup. It would allow the system to maintain the selected cabin temperature automatically.

The expected updates could make the three door Thar more practical for everyday use. ADAS could improve highway safety, while ventilated seats could add comfort during longer drives.
