Kia Carnival Hybrid Announced for India, Launch Expected Later This Year

Kia has announced the Carnival Hybrid for India, with the new MPV expected to arrive later this year. It will use a 1.6-litre hybrid petrol engine and an electric motor, making it the second hybrid model announced by Kia for the Indian market after the Sorento Hybrid.
The petrol engine develops 178 bhp and 265 Nm, while the electric motor produces 72 bhp and 304 Nm. Kia will offer this setup with a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the company could bring new features with the updated model and may introduce it as an MY26 upgrade.
Kia Carnival Hybrid Expected Price
The current diesel-powered Carnival costs ₹59.64 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the upcoming hybrid variant could carry an estimated price of around ₹56 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia has not yet confirmed the final price or launch date.
Perhaps, the bigger plan is Kia’s expansion of hybrid technology across its India range. Over the next three years, the Carens Clavis, Sonet and Seltos are expected to receive hybrid versions. As a result, the brand will offer buyers more powertrain choices across its lineup.
Kia is also expanding the Carens Clavis lineup, with the Carens Clavis CNG already revealed as another upcoming powertrain option.
