Hyundai has released the first short video teaser of the upcoming Hyundai Bayon, ahead of its India launch this festive season. The new teaser reveals the SUV’s H-Edge LED daytime running light and red exterior colour.
Hyundai has already shown the Bayon through design sketches as part of its teaser campaign. The SUV will sit between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s India lineup. It is being positioned as a lifestyle SUV aimed at urban customers. More details are expected to emerge as the launch gets closer.
Hyundai Bayon Teaser Reveals New Details
The latest video gives a closer look at the Bayon’s front lighting design. Its H-Edge LED daytime running light gets a smoky effect because of the black bezel. The teaser also confirms a red exterior colour for the upcoming SUV. However, Hyundai has not yet revealed the full exterior design.
The Bayon will follow Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy, and it will feature a sculpted hood and prominent wheel arches.
The Hyundai car will also get a unique H-Edge lighting signature and muscular lower body elements. These design details are intended to give the Bayon a strong road presence.
Lifestyle SUV for Urban Buyers
Hyundai is positioning the Bayon as a lifestyle SUV designed around modern urban requirements. This could make its everyday usability an important part of the product.
The company says the interior will focus on technology, connectivity and intuitive interaction. However, Hyundai has not revealed complete interior details yet.
The Bayon will be positioned between the Hyundai Venue and Hyundai Creta in the company’s India portfolio. This will give Hyundai another SUV option for buyers in the segment.
Petrol, Turbo and CNG Powertrain Options
Hyundai has not revealed complete powertrain details for the Bayon yet. However, the SUV is expected to get a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. A turbo petrol option is also expected to join the lineup. Hyundai may additionally introduce a CNG version for buyers seeking another fuel choice.
Transmission options are expected to include manual and automatic units. There is also a possibility of a CNG-AMT combination.
If introduced, this setup would be the first such combination from Hyundai in India. However, the company has not officially confirmed this powertrain option.
What to Expect Before Launch?
More information about the Hyundai Bayon will arrive in the coming days as its launch approaches.
Key details still awaited include:
- Complete exterior and interior design
- Engine and transmission specifications
- CNG powertrain details
- Variant lineup and pricing
- Features and equipment
For buyers, the Bayon will add another option in the Hyundai cars lineup. Its final positioning will depend on its price, features and powertrain choices.
