Google News

BMW Group India has officially started bookings for the 2027 BMW 7 Series in the country. Customers can reserve the luxury sedan through authorised dealerships or the brand’s official website. The updated flagship model will be available in both petrol and electric i7 versions.
BMW has not announced the exact launch date yet. However, the new 7 Series is expected to arrive in India soon. Once launched, it will rival the Mercedes Benz S Class and Audi A8 in the premium luxury sedan segment.
Updated Design With Neue Klasse Styling
The 2027 BMW 7 Series made its global debut in April 2026. The latest update introduces several styling revisions inspired by BMW’s Neue Klasse design language.
The front fascia looks cleaner and more modern than before. It features redesigned vertical headlights and slimmer LED daytime running lights. BMW has also updated the illuminated kidney grille with a more refined appearance. The front bumper now uses more body coloured elements. This reduces the heavy black trim seen on the outgoing model. Overall, the sedan now looks more elegant and less controversial.
The side profile remains largely unchanged. Dual tone paint options continue to be available. At the rear, the redesigned LED tail lamps appear larger and almost connected. Additional body coloured surfaces further enhance the premium look.
Premium Cabin Gets Major Technology Upgrade
Inside, BMW has refreshed the cabin with several advanced technologies. The biggest highlight is the new BMW Panoramic iDrive display. It stretches across the dashboard and integrates key driving information.
The sedan also features a 17.9 inch central touchscreen and a 14.6 inch passenger display. A redesigned steering wheel further modernises the cabin layout. Rear passengers get a luxurious experience with a 31.8 inch 8K entertainment screen. Other premium features include a Bowers and Wilkins audio system, multiple interior colour themes, and premium upholstery materials.
BMW also claims the updated model uses 30% less wiring. The new electronics deliver up to 20 times more computing power. Driver assistance systems have also been upgraded.
ICE And Electric Versions Confirmed
BMW India has confirmed both petrol and electric versions for the market. Final variant details will be announced closer to launch.
Globally, the 740 and 740 xDrive use a 3.0 litre six cylinder petrol engine. BMW also offers the 750e xDrive plug in hybrid overseas. A V8 powered 760i xDrive is expected in selected markets. The all electric BMW i7 offers battery capacities of up to 112.5 kWh. It supports DC fast charging at up to 250 kW. The top specification i7 60 xDrive delivers up to 563 km of claimed range. It also accelerates from 0 to 97 kmph in just 4.6 seconds.
With refreshed styling, advanced technology, and multiple powertrain choices, the 2027 BMW 7 Series aims to strengthen its position in India's luxury sedan market.
