Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) has achieved its best-ever sales performance in the calendar year 2025. The group recorded domestic sales of around 1,17,000 units, showing a strong growth of nearly 36% compared to last year. In addition, when exports are included, total sales touched an impressive 1,59,500 units. This solid performance highlights the growing demand for the group’s India-focused products.
At the same time, the company reached an important manufacturing milestone. It produced over two million vehicles under its Made-in-India programme. This achievement reflects the brand’s long-term commitment to local production and market expansion. However, the biggest highlight of 2025 was the massive success of one brand and one new model that changed the game for the group.
The newly launched Skoda Kylaq has become the key growth driver for the group. As Skoda’s first sub-4-metre SUV in India, it entered one of the country’s most competitive and high-volume segments. Perhaps this move helped Skoda attract a wider customer base with a more accessible and value-focused offering.
During 2025, the Kylaq sold over 45,000 units. It also became the highest-selling model within the group’s domestic portfolio. Because of this strong response, Skoda’s total yearly sales crossed 70,000 units, which marks an impressive growth of more than 100 percent.
In addition to the Kylaq’s success, the MQB-A0-IN platform continued to support the group’s growth. This India-developed platform underpins popular models like the Kushaq, Slavia, Taigun, and Virtus. These cars remain important contributors to steady sales throughout the year.
Volkswagen also continued to lead the midsize sedan space, with the Virtus holding a strong segment share. Meanwhile, performance models like the Skoda Octavia RS and Volkswagen Golf GTI saw quick sell-outs shortly after launch. This response shows that Indian buyers are also warming up to premium performance cars.
Beyond mass-market models, premium brands under the group also expanded their footprint. Audi introduced updated SUV variants, while Porsche increased its sales outlets across India. Bentley opened new showrooms in major cities, and Lamborghini added a new supercar to its lineup. These steps, in addition, show the group’s growing focus on the premium segment.
Overall, SAVWIPL’s 2025 performance reflects strong product planning, local manufacturing, and rising customer trust. Therefore, with new models and expanding networks, the group seems well-prepared for an even bigger future in India.
