Tata Motors Confirmed Sierra EV Launch for Q1 FY26-27
Google News

Tata Motors officially reported that the much-hyped Sierra EV is going to be released in India in the first quarter of FY 2026-27 (April-June). This schedule emphasises the brand's new product roadmap. This means giving more importance to the launch of the Harrier.ev and Safari.ev in the second half of the year. The Sierra.ev is a high-end flagship, revising model’s repo, but a focused electric vehicle, based on the Acti.ev platform.
Technical Expectations and Design
The production-spec Sierra.ev will continue to use the "Alpine" design it had exhibited at past Auto Expos. This included the signature “curved rear glass" as a tribute to the original 1990s model. In contrast to the present-day internal combustion engine (ICE) conversions, the Sierra.ev is designed as a Born Electric car. The Floors are expected to be flat and a more spacious "Lounge" sitting arrangement can be used in the rear. It will offer more than 500km on one charge.
The main characteristics that have been established to be true to the production model include:
- Technology Advanced Powertrain: Two-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) to empower performance and off-road ability.
- Premium Interior: 12.3-inch touchscreen, lighted steering wheel and 10-speaker JBL sound system.
- Features: Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and 360-degree high-definition camera.
- Bi-Directional charging: Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.
