New Delhi, September 29, 2026: The latest Tata Nexon 2027 spy shots show the next-generation compact SUV testing with alloy wheels similar to those offered on the Tata Curvv. Since the Curvv gets these wheels in an 18-inch size, the sighting has raised the possibility that Tata Motors could be testing an 18-inch wheel setup for the new Nexon.
However, the wheel size remains unconfirmed. The tyre markings in the spy shots are not clear enough to establish the exact diameter. Tata could also be using the Curvv alloys only for testing before finalising the wheels for the production model.
Tata Nexon Spy Shots Show Curvv-Style Alloys
The latest Tata Nexon spy shots show black and machined-finish alloys with a petal-like pattern. The design closely resembles the 18-inch alloy wheels available with the Tata Curvv.
The current Nexon uses 16-inch alloy wheels. If Tata introduces 18-inch wheels on the next-generation model, it would mark a noticeable increase in wheel size. The larger wheels could also work with the new Nexon’s more upright body and larger-looking wheel arches.
Tata may offer the bigger wheels only on higher variants. Lower variants could continue with smaller wheels to keep the range differentiated.
Tata Nexon 2027 Spy Shots Show More Design Changes
The alloy wheels are not the only change seen in the 2027 Tata Nexon spy shots. Earlier test vehicles showed a revised body with a more upright shape and changes to the front and rear sections.
The new Nexon also appears to have a different roofline, rear windscreen and tailgate. These changes suggest a new-generation model rather than a minor update to the existing SUV.
Earlier cabin spy shots also showed parts of the interior under testing. Tata has not yet revealed the final dashboard design, equipment list or cabin features.
Tata Could Follow Harrier Testing Approach
There is a similar example in Tata’s recent testing process. During the development of the Harrier facelift, test vehicles were spotted with 19-inch alloy wheels from the Hexa. The production Harrier later received 19-inch wheels on selected variants, although Tata used a different alloy design.
This means the Curvv alloys on the Nexon test mule could indicate that Tata is checking how a larger wheel and tyre combination works on the SUV. However, it does not confirm that 18-inch wheels will reach production.
How the Nexon Could Compare With Rivals
The current Nexon uses 16-inch alloys, while the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and Kia Syros offer 17-inch alloy wheels on selected variants.
An 18-inch option would therefore give the next-generation Nexon a larger wheel size than these models. However, Tata has not confirmed whether it will offer this size on the production SUV.
2027 Tata Nexon Launch and Powertrain Details
Tata is expected to launch the next-generation Nexon in 2027. The company could continue offering petrol, diesel and CNG versions, while a new-generation Nexon EV is also expected as part of the future lineup.
For now, Tata has not confirmed the launch date, final wheel sizes, variants or powertrain specifications. More details should emerge as testing continues and Tata moves closer to the production version.
Car Junction Insight
The Curvv-style alloys are the key detail in the latest Tata Nexon 2027 spy shots, but they should not be treated as confirmation of 18-inch wheels. Tata has used existing wheels on test vehicles before, so the production Nexon could still get a different design or size.
If Tata does introduce 18-inch wheels, the change would give the Nexon a larger wheel option than its main compact SUV rivals. The final setup will become clearer when Tata reveals the production-spec model.
As the Tata Nexon 2027 is spotted with Curvv-inspired alloys, Tata is also expanding its EV strategy with BaaS across the entire EV portfolio.
