Hyundai Bayon Spied Ahead Of India Launch
Google News

Hyundai’s upcoming Bayon midsize SUV has been spotted testing in India ahead of its expected launch during the festive season. The latest spy images reveal more details about its exterior and interior, suggesting that the new SUV will have a design and cabin layout distinct from the Creta. It is expected to sit between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s India line-up.
Exterior, Interior And Features
The Hyundai Bayon has been spied with an upright SUV stance, flared wheel arches, roof rails and dual-tone alloy wheels. It also gets a raked rear windscreen and roof spoiler, while the front features split headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs and a rectangular air dam. The rear is expected to feature LED tail-lamps that could be connected by an LED light bar, along with squared-off wheel-arch cladding.
The interior spy shots reveal a dual-tone cabin with a curved dual-screen setup, similar to the dual 12.3-inch displays offered on higher variants of the Venue. It is also expected to get updated infotainment software with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Bayon To Get CNG Powertrain
The upcoming SUV is expected to use Hyundai’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which currently produces 115hp in the Creta. It is likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual and CVT, while a factory-fitted CNG option is also expected.
The CNG version could use an underbody tank, similar to the setup seen in the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. This would allow Hyundai to offer a CNG-powered SUV above four metres for the first time, giving the new model a direct rival to the Victoris CNG.
Car Junction Insights
The Bayon SUV appears to be shaping up as a distinct offering rather than a smaller version of the Creta. Its sharper exterior design, modern cabin and expected CNG option could help Hyundai cover a wider range of buyers in the midsize SUV segment.
With the launch expected during the festive season, more details about its variants, features and pricing are likely to emerge closer to its market introduction.
Ahead of its expected launch, the Bayon is already creating buzz, explore the latest update on the Hyundai Bayon name confirmation for India.
