Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition Debuts at Rs. 8.75 Lakh
Google News

Citroen India has launched the Basalt X Comfort Edition at a starting price of Rs. 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Introduced as part of the brand's 108-year anniversary celebrations, the special edition focuses on enhancing cabin comfort with premium interior upgrades and optional technology packs. It becomes the second Citroen model after the Aircross to receive the Comfort Edition treatment.
The Comfort Edition is based on the existing Basalt coupe-SUV and aims to offer buyers a more premium ownership experience. While the exterior remains largely unchanged, the cabin receives several factory-fitted upgrades and personalisation options.
What's New in the Basalt X Comfort Edition?
The new edition introduces several interior and convenience upgrades through Citroen's Comfort AXS packs, available on the You and Plus variants. The brand says these additions are designed to enhance everyday comfort and connectivity while giving buyers more personalisation choices.
Key additions include:
- Metropolitan Beige leatherette seat upholstery
- 10.25-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment system
- JBL premium audio system
- Wireless phone charger
- Dual dashcams with predictive safety alerts
- Rear-view camera

Engine Options Continue Without Changes
The Basalt X Comfort Edition continues with the existing powertrain lineup. The You variant is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 82 hp and 115 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Plus variant gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 110 hp and 190 Nm with a 6-speed manual transmission. Buyers can also opt for a 6-speed automatic, where torque increases to 205 Nm.
Citroen Expands Its Comfort Edition Lineup
Citroen says the Basalt X Comfort Edition is aimed at customers seeking additional comfort without moving to a higher-priced model. Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director, Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said the positive response to the Aircross Comfort Edition encouraged the company to extend the concept to the Basalt. He added that the combination of factory-fitted interiors and curated accessory packs enhances convenience, technology, and personalisation.
