Google News

Skoda Auto India is prepared to announce the official pricing for the Kushaq facelift on 21 March 2026. This update marks the first significant mid-life refresh for the compact SUV since its Indian market debut in 2021. The production is already underway now at the Chakan facility in Pune. The price announcement will be the final development before the delivery of Kushaq Facelift.
Visual Overhauls and Enhanced Feature List
The 2026 Kushaq facelift introduces several aesthetic and functional upgrades aimed at strengthening its position in a highly competitive segment. The exterior features a revised fascia with updated lighting signatures and refreshed bumpers. However, the most substantial changes are found within the cabin, focusing on premium convenience features that were previously missing.
Key updates include:
- Panoramic Sunroof: A major addition to the top-spec variants to meet segment standards.
- Upgraded Tech: A revised digital instrument cluster and an enhanced infotainment interface.
- Rear Comfort: Introduction of a massage function for the rear seats, a first in this category.
- Safety & Convenience: Enhanced upholstery and subtle dashboard revisions to improve tactile feel.
Powertrain Options and Transmission Updates
Mechanically, the Kushaq remains grounded in the brand’s TSI technology, though it receives a notable update in the entry-level powertrain. The SUV continues to offer the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines.
- 1.0-litre TSI: Now paired with a new eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, replacing the older six-speed unit.
- 1.5-litre TSI: Retains the six-speed manual and the seven-speed DSG (dual-clutch) gearbox.
- Performance: The engines continue to produce 114bhp/178Nm and 148bhp/250Nm respectively.
The Skoda Kushaq facelift is expected to command a slight price premium over the outgoing model. It is estimated that ex-showroom prices will start around Rs. 11 lakh. By addressing previous feature gaps, most notably the sunroof and transmission updates, Skoda aims to better compete with established competitors. These include updated Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the newly launched Renault Duster. The success of this refresh will likely depend on how aggressively Skoda prices the new mid-tier variants.
