Nissan Tekton Launched in India at Rs. 10.49 Lakh; Bookings Open Across India

Mumbai, 09 July 2026: Nissan has officially launched the Nissan Tekton SUV in India at a starting price of Rs. 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new mid-size SUV is available in six variants with two petrol engine options. Customers can book the SUV from today by paying a token amount of Rs. 21,000.

The Nissan Tekton is the sister model of the Renault Duster and forms an important part of Nissan's four-product strategy for the Indian market. With this launch, the company has entered one of the country's fastest-growing SUV segments, where buyers now expect a combination of modern features, safety, performance, and value.

Nissan Tekton Gets Two Petrol Engine Options

The Nissan Tekton comes with two petrol engine choices to suit different customer needs.

The first option is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 99 bhp and 166 Nm of torque. Nissan offers this engine only with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In addition, buyers can choose a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 160 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. This engine comes with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) transmission.

However, Nissan has not introduced the 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain with the Tekton. Perhaps the company wants to maintain a clear difference between the Tekton and the Renault Duster, which is expected to receive the hybrid option later.

According to Nissan, the claimed fuel efficiency figures are:

  • 19.5 kmpl for the 1.0-litre manual variant
  • 17.8 kmpl for the 1.3-litre turbo manual variant
  • 18.5 kmpl for the 1.3-litre turbo DCT variant

Top Variant Offers ADAS and Premium Features

The top-spec Tekna+ variant comes equipped with several premium features. It includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google integration, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Moreover, the SUV offers automatic climate control with rear AC vents, leatherette upholstery, powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and a 360-degree camera.

As a result, Nissan aims to offer a feature-rich package that competes strongly with other SUVs in this segment.

Nissan Tekton Receives 5-Star BNCAP Safety Rating

Safety remains one of the biggest highlights of the new Tekton. The SUV has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash safety rating, matching its sibling, the Renault Duster.

It scored 30.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection.

Furthermore, the standard safety package includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ISOFIX child seat anchors, and seat belt reminders for every passenger.

Nissan Tekton Design, Size and Colour Options

The Nissan Tekton features a bold design inspired by the Nissan Patrol. The front gets a large Nissan logo, slim LED headlamps, vertical LED daytime running lamps, a wide grille, and a panoramic sunroof. In addition, the SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and gets connected LED tail lamps at the rear.

Inside, the cabin features a beige and black colour theme. The SUV measures 4.3 metres in length and has a 2.6-metre wheelbase, offering comfortable space for passengers.

The Tekton provides 518 litres of boot space, which expands to 1,789 litres after folding the second-row seats. Therefore, it can easily carry luggage for family trips and long journeys.

Nissan offers the SUV in Moonbrow Grey, Indigo Blue, Flare Garnet Red, Blade Silver, Onyx Black, and Pearl White. Buyers can also choose from five dual-tone colour combinations with a black roof.

Nissan Tekton Rivals in India

The Nissan Tekton enters a highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. Its key rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Victoris, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Tata Curvv, Tata Sierra, MG Hector, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

With its competitive starting price, modern features, strong safety credentials, and two petrol engine options, the Nissan Tekton aims to attract buyers looking for a practical and well-equipped mid-size SUV. As bookings begin across India, the new model is expected to strengthen Nissan's presence in the country's SUV market.
