Nissan Teases Tekton's Front Design Ahead Of July 9 Debut
Google News

Nissan has released a new teaser of its upcoming Tekton SUV ahead of its global debut on July 9 in Mumbai. The latest teaser gives the clearest look yet at the SUV's front design and highlights key styling details.
Shown in black, the Tekton gets a large front grille with multiple horizontal slats, rectangular LED headlamps, and vertical LED daytime running lights on the bumper. A red strip runs across the grille and passes through the illuminated Nissan logo, creating a unique front-end look.
Nissan Tekton Takes Inspiration From The Patrol
The new teaser also reveals large ‘TEKTON’ lettering placed across the front edge of the bonnet. The bonnet features a raised centre section, adding to the SUV's bold appearance. The overall front design takes inspiration from the larger Nissan Patrol, which has led many to describe the Tekton as a smaller version of the flagship SUV.
Earlier Nissan Tekton teasers positioned the SUV as a 'Baby Patrol' and revealed its overall silhouette ahead of the debut. The latest teaser now focuses on the SUV's front-end design. The company is expected to position the Tekton as a stylish option in the midsize SUV category.
Expected Features And Safety Equipment of Nissan Tekton
The Nissan Tekton is expected to share its platform with the upcoming Renault Duster while getting its own exterior and interior styling. Features could include dual digital displays, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, and a 360-degree camera. Moreover, safety features are likely to include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and ADAS functions in higher variants.
Engine Options And Segment Rivals
Nissan is expected to offer the Tekton with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 100 PS and 160 Nm. Also, there is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 163 PS and 280 Nm. Manual and DCT automatic gearbox options are likely, while a strong hybrid version could join the lineup at a later stage.
Once launched, the Tekton will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, and Tata Sierra. The SUV will enter a highly competitive segment currently led by the Creta, while the Victoris has also emerged as a strong contender.
