Kia Carens Clavis EV: GT-Line and X-Line Trims Launched in India
Google News

Kia India has officially expanded its EV portfolio with the launch of the Carens Clavis GT-Line and X-Line trims. The 2026 model year update introduces sportier aesthetics, a new rugged styling package, and the highly anticipated six-seater configuration. Prices for the updated lineup now range from ₹18 lakh to ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Trims and Seating Configurations
The primary highlight of this update is the addition of the GT-Line (GTX and GTX+) and X-Line variants. These are exclusively available with the larger 51.4 kWh extended range battery. While the GT-Line focuses on a performance-oriented visual appeal, the X-Line introduces a more "stealth" look to the electric MPV.
Furthermore, Kia has addressed consumer demand for cabin flexibility by introducing a 6-seater layout featuring second-row captain seats. This configuration is now available starting from the HTX E trim through to the top-tier X-Line. Notably, Kia has maintained price parity between the 6-seater and 7-seater versions, allowing buyers to choose according to their requirements.
- GT-Line Enhancements: Unique crystal-cut alloy wheels, lime-green brake calipers, and metal pedals.
- X-Line Features: Exclusive Dark Gun Metal matte exterior finish and blacked-out trim elements.
- Technology Upgrades: Top-spec GTX+ and X-Line variants now include a Digital Key and a dedicated battery heating function.

Performance and Safety
The mechanical specifications remain consistent with the initial launch. The Standard Range variants utilize a 42 kWh battery, while the Extended Range models feature a 51.4 kWh pack. Both support DC fast charging, capable of a 10–80% charge in approximately 39 minutes using a 100 kW charger. Safety continues to be a priority, with six airbags and Level 2 ADAS with 20 autonomous features. Also, the Electronic Stability Control is provided as standard or optional, depending on the trim.
With the introduction of GT-Line and X-Line trims, Kia is positioning the Carens Clavis EV to appeal to a broader demographic. The 6-seater configuration at no additional cost over the 7-seater, strengthens its competitive edge in the growing electric MPV segment.
