Hyundai i20 Gets Major Price Cut, Now Starts at Rs 5.99 Lakh with 6 Airbags
Google News

Hyundai Motor India has revised the prices of the i20 premium hatchback, which makes it more affordable than before. With this update, the i20 now starts at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Era variant. This change lowers the entry point into the premium hatchback segment, which is known for feature-rich and stylish cars. At the same time, Hyundai has also added six airbags as standard across the range, strengthening the focus on safety.
This price revision could help buyers who want a modern hatchback but were earlier held back by higher starting prices. Perhaps this move is also aimed at keeping the i20 competitive in a crowded market.
Base Variant Now Offers More Safety and Useful Features
Even though the Hyundai i20 Era is the entry-level variant, it now comes with a generous feature list. In addition to six airbags, it gets a digital instrument cluster, front and rear skid plates, body-coloured ORVMs and door handles, and USB Type-C charging ports. There’s also a tilt-adjustable steering wheel is also standard, which makes daily driving more comfortable.

These additions ensure that buyers do not feel short-changed when opting for the base version. However, Hyundai has managed to keep the price attractive despite adding important safety and convenience features.
Magna Executive and Magna Variants Offer Better Value
Moving up the range, the i20 Magna Executive is now priced at Rs 6.74 lakh, while the Magna variant starts at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Both variants have become more appealing due to revised pricing and added equipment.
The Magna Executive comes with features such as TPMS, automatic headlamps, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls. Meanwhile, the Magna variant adds more comfort-focused features like an electric sunroof, LED DRLs, rear AC vents, and a front armrest with storage. These features make the cabin feel more premium, especially for family buyers.
Optional Touchscreen and Ownership Benefits
Hyundai is also offering an optional 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This dealer-installed option comes with a three-year warranty at Rs 14,999. In addition, all variants of the i20 come with a standard 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty, which adds peace of mind for long-term ownership.
