BMW M2 CS Launched at Rs. 1.66 Crore in India

BMW India has officially bolstered its high-performance lineup with the launch of the limited-run M2 CS. Priced at ₹1.66 crore (ex-showroom), this track-focused iteration comes above the standard M2. The recent version offers significant enhancements in power, aerodynamics and lightweight construction. Aimed at purists and collectors, the M2 CS brings global motorsport engineering to Indian roads in a compact, rear-wheel-drive package.

Performance Upgrades and Lightweight Engineering

The BMW M2 CS is defined by its mechanical superiority and extensive use of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). Unlike the standard model, the CS (Club Sport) variant undergoes a rigorous weight-reduction program and a power bump to ensure it remains the benchmark for driving dynamics in its segment.

  • Upgraded Powertrain: The 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged straight-six engine has been retuned to produce a staggering 450hp and 550Nm of peak torque. This allows the coupe to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 4.0 seconds in the automatic transmission.
  • Weight Reduction: The hood, roof, front splitter, rear diffuser and mirror caps are all crafted from CFRP. The carbon fibre bonnet, featuring a central air vent, weighs 50% less than the standard version while increasing downforce.
  • Chassis and Handling: It comes standard with Adaptive M Suspension (previously unavailable on the M2) and M Sport brakes with red calipers. For those seeking maximum track performance, M Carbon ceramic brakes are available as an optional extra.
  • Exterior Styling: The car is distinguished by 19-inch forged V-spoke wheels finished in high-gloss black or an optional matte gold. It also features a unique dual-branch exhaust system with the engraved M logo.
  • Interior Refinement: The cabin is draped in Alcantara and leather, featuring M Sport bucket seats derived from the M4. The center console is also made of lightweight carbon fibre to shave off additional kilograms.

BMW India plans to launch the most exclusive global “M” model ahead of the BMW M2 CS. Combining manual-friendliness (offered with the lightning-fast DCT) with extreme light weight, the M2 CS occupies a unique niche.
