Tata Sierra EV Debuts in India on June 30

Tata Motors is preparing to unveil the production-ready version of the Tata Sierra EV on June 30, 2026. It will be the seventh electric model in the company’s growing EV lineup. First shown as a concept at Auto Expo 2020 and again in 2023, the Sierra EV now moves closer to market launch after multiple teasers alongside its ICE version. The SUV is expected to play a key role in strengthening the company’s position in India’s EV market.

Sierra EV Position in Tata’s EV Range

The Sierra EV will sit between the Tata Motors Curvv EV and Tata Harrier EV in the brand’s electric portfolio. It will be based on the acti.ev+ architecture, which also underpins the Harrier EV. The SUV is expected to offer both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) options, with AWD likely reserved for higher 75 kWh variants.

In terms of design, the Sierra EV will feature a closed front grille, revised bumper styling, and EV-specific detailing to distinguish it from the ICE version. Signature Sierra elements like the wraparound rear glass area are expected to remain, blending heritage design with a modern electric identity. Inside, the SUV may offer a triple-screen layout in top trims, along with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, connected features, and Level 2 ADAS.

Battery options, range and expected pricing

Reports suggest the Sierra EV could use battery packs ranging from around 55 kWh to 75 kWh, with some versions potentially sharing hardware with the Harrier EV. The driving range is expected to be between 500 km and 550 km on a full charge, depending on the variant. Fast charging support and features like V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) are also likely to be offered.

Pricing is expected to fall in the ₹18 lakh to ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom) range, positioning it between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. Once launched, it will compete with models like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti e Vitara. With its mix of nostalgic design cues, modern features, and strong range figures, the Sierra EV is expected to become one of Tata’s key EV launches of 2026.
