Porsche has positioned the electric Cayenne above the regular ICE-powered version in its range. The prices listed above are starting figures, and customers can add several optional features and customisation choices. The Turbo Electric commands a significant premium, but it also brings much higher performance. In addition, Porsche offers extensive personalisation options, which can push the final purchase price higher.
Exterior Design
The electric version keeps the familiar Cayenne shape but gets several changes to suit its electric powertrain. At the front, the SUV gets slim LED lighting, a wide lower section and air openings that help manage airflow and cooling. The design also gives the vehicle a broad stance on the road.
From the side, the sloping roof, large wheel arches and long body give it a sporty appearance. Buyers can choose wheels measuring up to 22 inches, depending on the configuration. At the back, the SUV gets a full-width LED light setup with illuminated Porsche lettering. The Turbo Electric adds a few sportier touches to its bumpers, giving it a more aggressive appearance.
Porsche also offers a range of exterior colours, while customers looking for something more personal can choose from the brand's paint-to-sample programme.
Interior and Features
Inside, the cabin follows Porsche's modern design approach, with a strong focus on digital screens and premium materials. The dashboard gets a large curved OLED infotainment display along with a 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Customers can also choose an additional 14.9-inch screen for the front passenger.
The feature list includes four-zone climate control, a panoramic roof, an augmented-reality head-up display and electrically adjustable front seats. Depending on the configuration, the front seats also offer heating, ventilation and massage functions.
In addition, buyers can choose a premium Burmester 3D sound system with 21 speakers. Other available equipment includes soft-close doors, a powered tailgate and electrically adjustable rear seats.
Boot Space
Despite its performance focus, the SUV offers plenty of storage space. It provides up to 781 litres of luggage space, while folding the rear seats increases the capacity to 1,588 litres. There is also a 90-litre storage area under the front bonnet. This extra front compartment can be useful for smaller luggage, charging equipment and other items.
Battery, Range and Performance
The two India-spec versions use a 113 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.

The regular version produces up to 442 PS and 835 Nm when Launch Control is active. It can reach 100 kmph from a standstill in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230 kmph.
However, the Turbo Electric takes performance to another level. It can deliver 1,156 PS and 1,500 Nm with Launch Control, allowing it to complete the 0-100 kmph run in 2.5 seconds. Its top speed stands at 260 kmph. Porsche's global technical data confirms these performance figures.
The standard version offers a claimed WLTP range of up to around 642 km, while the Turbo Electric can cover up to around 623 km, depending on the configuration and testing figures quoted for the market.
Charging and Other Technology
The electric Cayenne uses an 800V electrical system and supports high-speed DC charging. Under suitable conditions, Porsche quotes charging capability of around 390-400 kW, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 80% in roughly 16 minutes with a compatible charger.
Perhaps the most interesting technology is the available 11 kW wireless charging system. It allows the SUV to charge through an inductive charging pad without the driver having to connect a charging cable.
In addition, the SUV gets adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering. The latter can turn the rear wheels by up to five degrees, which can help improve stability at higher speeds and make the large SUV easier to handle in tighter spaces.
Safety Features
The SUV comes with a wide range of safety and driver assistance systems. These include multiple airbags, electronic safety systems and an advanced driver assistance package. The model has also received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, according to the launch information.
Rivals
The new electric SUV enters the premium luxury EV space and will face models such as the Lotus Eletre, Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and the upcoming Range Rover Electric. The Cayenne Electric, however, takes a strong performance-focused approach. Its combination of a large battery, all-wheel drive and high power output puts it among the more performance-oriented luxury electric SUVs in this price range.
CarJunction Insight
The Porsche Cayenne Electric adds a new option for buyers who want a luxury SUV without moving away from Porsche's performance-focused character. The standard version already offers 442 PS and a claimed range of more than 600 km, while the Turbo Electric takes things much further with 1,156 PS and a 2.5-second 0-100 kmph time.
With prices starting at ₹1.77 crore, it remains a premium purchase. However, its long claimed range, fast charging, large cabin and performance could make it an interesting addition to India's growing luxury EV market.
BMW is also updating its premium lineup with the new 3 Series G50, bringing a fresh design and updated technology.
