New Tata Tiago and Tiago EV Revealed, Priced Yet To Be Announced
Google News

Tata Motors has officially revealed the first look of the updated Tiago and Tiago EV. With this, the commercial launch is scheduled for May 28, 2026. The refresh focuses on a bolder exterior aesthetic and high-end features like a 360-degree camera. This is aimed at maintaining the hatchback's competitiveness against rivals like the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3.
Exterior Enhancements and Feature Upgrades
The 2026 iterations of the Tiago and Tiago EV adopt a more aggressive front fascia. Key changes include redesigned headlights featuring eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs and a new bumper design. While the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variant gains a black grille reminiscent of the Altroz, the EV version features a body-coloured blanked-off grille. Both models now sport black wheel arches and updated 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin is expected to receive a more modern instrument cluster to complement the 10.25-inch infotainment system and the illuminated logo on the steering wheel. Safety is also a priority, with reports suggesting that six airbags could become standard across the range.
Key Technical & Safety Additions:
- Visibility: 360-degree camera system with pods on the front bumper and ORVMs.
- Lighting: Vertical LED strip taillights connected by a decorative bar.
- Cabin Comfort: Retains auto climate control, cooled glovebox, and TPMS.
- Standard Safety: Likely upgrade from two to six airbags.
Powertrain Options and Performance Specifications
While the ICE version continues with its proven 1.2-litre petrol engine, the Tiago EV might see an increase in battery capacity. This is to align with the higher range figures recently seen in the Punch EV.

The upcoming facelift serves as a significant mid-cycle refresh for Tata’s entry-level hatchback. Technology like a 360-degree camera and anticipated standard six airbags hints that the maker is positioning the Tiago as a feature-rich hatchback. Pricing is expected to see a marginal hike. Although the possible introduction of a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model for the EV could lower the initial entry cost for buyers.
