Maruti Suzuki Eeco Receives 'Star Edition' Accessory Suite
Google News

Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new ‘Star Edition’ accessory package for its best-selling Eeco van. This is aimed at enhancing the visual appeal and interior comfort of the utilitarian MPV. This dealer-fitted kit is specifically designed for the five-seater AC and five-seater AC CNG variants and is available at Rs. 20,000. It now offers a significant price benefit for customers looking for showroom-level customization.
Visual Upgrades and Package Details
The Star Edition package consolidates 18 distinct accessories that were previously valued at approximately ₹37,000. Under this new initiative, Maruti Suzuki is offering the entire suite at a revised price of ₹19,999. Points worth noticing is the vehicle's mechanical specifications (including the 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine) remain unchanged. However, the package adds a layer of refinement to the Eeco's basic equipment list.
Notably, the kit introduces body-colored bumpers for specific shades like Metallic Glistening Grey and Metallic Brisk Blue, which were exclusive to higher-end vehicles.
The key highlights of the Star Edition include:
- Exterior Enhancements: The kit adds a rear spoiler, front fog lamps with chrome garnish, wheel covers, door visors, and mud flaps.
- Interior Styling: A specialized "Interior Styling Kit" introduces faux wooden trims on the dashboard and door sill guards.
- Seating and Upholstery: The package includes upgraded leatherette seat covers and a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel.
- Variant Exclusivity: The kit is restricted to the 5-seater versions (Standard, AC, and CNG); it is currently not offered for the 6-seater or Cargo variants.
- Safety Retention: The update complements standard safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
The 46% discount on bundled accessories enables the automaker to leverage Eeco's dominant market position. It aims to capture buyers who desire a "passenger car" feel in a budget MPV. While Maruti targets the entry-level utility segment, Honda’s upcoming launch signals a high-stakes move in the premium sedan and CBU SUV categories.
