Maruti Suzuki Eeco Crosses 15 Lakh Sales Milestone in India
Google News

New Delhi, September 2, 2026: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that its popular van, the Eeco, has crossed 15 lakh cumulative sales in India. Launched in January 2010, the Eeco has become a trusted mobility option for families, entrepreneurs, businesses and institutions across the country.
The Eeco has supported a wide range of transport needs over the years. Families use it for daily travel, while businesses rely on it for cargo movement and other commercial activities. In addition, its different versions serve tourism, ambulance and other essential mobility needs.
The model has also recorded faster growth with each major sales milestone. The Eeco took about 8 years to reach its first 5 lakh in sales. It then crossed the next 5 lakh mark in less than five years. Now, the latest 5 lakh units have been sold in around three and a half years, making it the fastest 5 lakh sales milestone in the Eeco’s journey.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The 15 lakh sales milestone is a celebration of the progress of our customers and the enduring trust they have placed in Eeco. From families experiencing the joy of mobility, to entrepreneurs building their businesses and institutions delivering essential services, Eeco has played many roles in the lives of its customers. Its deep connection with Bharat is reflected in the fact that 65% of Eeco sales came from rural markets in FY 2025- 26, while 55% of customers are first-time buyers and over 51% are business owners. For many customers, Eeco is not just a mode of transport; it is an enabler of aspiration and livelihood. We thank our customers for making Eeco a trusted partner in their progress.”
The sales data also highlights the Eeco’s strong reach in rural India. According to Maruti Suzuki, 65% of Eeco sales came from rural markets in FY 2025-26. Moreover, 55% of customers were first time buyers, while more than 51% were business owners.
Maruti Suzuki has continued to update the Eeco as customers' needs have changed. The current model comes with a 13 variant range, including 5 seater and 6 seater passenger versions, Tour V, Ambulance and Cargo models. Buyers can also choose between petrol and S-CNG options.
The latest Eeco uses a 1.2-litre Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. The petrol version delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.71 km/l, while the S-CNG version offers 26.78 km/kg. The company has also seen a sharp rise in demand for the CNG version. Its share of total Eeco sales increased from 12% in FY 2019-20 to 48% in FY 2025-26.
Safety remains another key part of the updated model. The 2026 Eeco gets six airbags as standard, along with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and 3-point ELR seatbelts for all seats. It also features seatbelt reminders, a speed alert system and side-impact beams.
In addition, the van gets practical features such as a digital instrument cluster, air conditioning, HVAC controls, a dome lamp with battery saver function and reclining front seats. These features add convenience while keeping the focus on everyday usability.
Eeco Star Edition Introduced to Mark 15 Lakh Sales
To mark the 15 lakh sales milestone, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Eeco Star Edition. The special edition comes with 18 exclusive exterior and interior accessories designed to improve its appearance and cabin experience.
The Star Edition also gets body coloured bumpers, giving the van a cleaner and more modern look. These updates add a special touch to the Eeco while retaining the practical features that have helped the model build a strong customer base.
With 15 lakh sales now achieved, the Eeco continues its journey as one of Maruti Suzuki’s key van models in India. Its wide range, growing S-CNG demand, standard safety features and new Star Edition could help it continue to meet the changing needs of Indian customers.
