- 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection.
- Secured 30.76 out of 32 for adult safety and 44.97 out of 49 for child occupant protection.
- Tested on the AX7 diesel automatic, the rating applies across all trim levels and variants.
Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV 7XO, has officially achieved a 5-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash test assessments. Evaluated under stringent safety standards, the SUV demonstrated high crashworthiness, reaffirming Mahindra's focus on strong vehicle architecture and passenger protection across both adult and child safety parameters.
In adult occupant protection (AOP), the Mahindra car achieved 30.76 out of 32 points. It recorded 14.76/16 in the frontal offset test and a perfect 16/16 in the side movable barrier assessment. Critically, body structures like the head, neck, and chest offered good protection during side impacts.

Car Junction Insights
Car Junction’s take here is that this 5-star rating may cement Mahindra’s leadership in family-centric safety, boosting the brand image. Sales will likely surge as safety remains a top priority for 7-seater buyers. The competitive dynamic stays largely unchanged and the XUV 7XO directly matches rivals like the Tata Safari in safety ratings. By this, it retains its strong edge over segment contenders while compelling others to upgrade standard safety.
