Mahindra Vision S Prototype Spied Testing in Spiti Valley With New Details

A camouflaged prototype of Mahindra’s upcoming Vision S SUV was recently spied undergoing high-altitude testing in Kaza, Himachal Pradesh. Situated 3,650 metres above sea level, the Spiti Valley tests focus on validating powertrain performance. Positioned above the XUV 3XO, the production-spec sub-4-metre model is expected to hit the market in 2027.

Exterior Styling and Key Design Details

The spy shots reveal a boxy silhouette that stays true to the concept model unveiled in August 2025. The front of the SUV features Mahindra’s six-slat grille flanked by sleek LED headlamps and a muscular clamshell bonnet.

Key exterior highlights observed on the test mule include:

• A lower front air dam housing a concealed central radar module for ADAS features.
• Short body overhangs, flush door handles, pronounced wheel arches, and a panoramic sunroof.
• A side-hinged tailgate carrying a mounted spare wheel and vertically oriented LED taillamps.

Interior Features and Platform Details

The interior features an upright dashboard layout with an integrated touchscreen display and curved air vents. Drivers also get physical switches and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Underneath, the vehicle utilizes Mahindra’s new modular Nu_IQ platform architecture.
