Hyundai Sees Steady Growth in May 2026 with Creta and Venue

Hyundai sold a total of 47,837 units in May 2026, compared to 43,861 units in May 2025, recording 9.07% year-on-year growth. Sales were lower than 51,902 units in April 2026, reflecting a 7.83% month-on-month decline. The performance was driven mainly by SUVs such as Creta/Creta EV and Venue, while models like i10 NIOS and Verna witnessed weaker demand. This reflects varied performance across the lineup during the month.

Hyundai Monthly Sales Performance - May 2026

• Creta/EV sold 15,235 units in May 2026. In April 2026, it recorded 15,291 units, which is slightly higher. This results in a 0.37% MoM decline. Compared to 14,860 units in May 2025, it shows a 2.52% YoY increase.
• Venue recorded 11,714 units in May 2026. Last year in May 2025, it was 7,520 units, reflecting a 55.77% YoY jump. In April 2026, the figure was 12,420 units, which results in a 5.68% month-on-month fall.
• Exter achieved 6,595 units in May 2026. This compares to 5,899 units in May 2025, marking an 11.80% YoY improvement. In April 2026, they sold 8,096 units, leading to an 18.54% decline from the previous month.
• Aura sold 5,077 units in May 2026. This is higher than 4,587 units in April 2026, showing a 10.68% MoM increase. Compared to 5,225 units in May 2025, it reflects a 2.83% YoY decline.
• i20 delivered 4,749 units in May 2026. Compared with 4,090 units in May 2025, this shows a 16.11% YoY increase. April 2026 recorded 5,624 units, resulting in a 15.56% MoM decline.
• i10 NIOS sold 2,920 units in May 2026. It was higher in April 2026 at 4,149 units. This reflects a 29.62% MoM decline. Compared to 4,344 units in May 2025, it shows a 32.78% YoY decline.
• Alcazar registered 814 units in May 2026. This is below 922 units in May 2025, translating to an 11.71% YoY decline. In April 2026 stood at 850 units, which results in a 4.24% MoM decrease.
• Verna recorded 723 units in May 2026, compared to 930 units in May 2025, showing a 22.26% YoY decline. In April 2026, sales were 865 units. The MoM change is a 16.42% decline. 
• IONIQ 5 posted 10 units in May 2026, lower than 20 units in April 2026, showing a 50% MoM decline. Compared to 11 units in May 2025, it reflects a 9.09% YoY decline. The model shows very limited monthly volumes. 
• Tucson recorded 0 units in May 2026, same in April 2026, which indicates no month-on-month movement in sales. In May 2025, the model sold 60 units. This leads to a complete 100% year-on-year decline in comparison to last year.
