2026 Tata Tiago and Tiago EV Facelifts Launched Starting at Rs. 4.69 Lakh

Tata Motors has officially launched the highly anticipated 2026 facelifts for the Tiago and Tiago EV in India today, May 28. This update introduces a more advanced design language, segment-first technology, and a disruptive "Battery-as-a-Service" (BaaS) ownership model for the electric variant. This will significantly lower the entry price for EV adoption.
Premium Tech and Disruptive EV Pricing
The 2026 Tiago twins receive substantial interior updates, including a new free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. A major highlight is the introduction of a 360-degree camera system. This makes the Tiago one of the most affordable cars in India to offer this feature.
For the Tiago EV, Tata has introduced the BaaS model. In this model, customers can purchase the car at a lower upfront cost of Rs. 4.69 lakh. If you rent a battery, that will cost an additional Rs. 2.6 per km. Without BaaS, the Tiago EV starts at an aggressive Rs. 6.99 lakh.
Key Product Enhancements:
- Safety Standard: Six airbags are now standard across all variants, alongside ESC and TPMS.
- Segment-Firsts: 360-degree camera, paddle shifters (for AMT/CNG variants), and dual wireless charging pads.
- Refreshed Styling: Slimmer LED headlamps with eyebrow DRLs and a new connected LED tail-lamp setup at the rear.
- Enhanced Comfort: Inclusion of rear AC vents and USB Type-C charging ports across the range.

The 2026 refresh successfully transitions the Tiago from a budget hatchback to a tech-forward contender. By standardizing six airbags and introducing premium features like the 360-degree camera, Tata is prioritizing safety and value. Furthermore, the BaaS model for the Tiago EV is a strategic move to tackle the high initial cost of EVs. This might potentially shift the market dynamic in favor of electric mobility for first-time car buyers.
