New Sierra EV Teaser Confirms Dual-Motor QWD Powertrain

A new promotional teaser for the highly anticipated Tata Sierra EV teaseed again ahead of its debut on June 30. The latest media release officially confirms that the electric SUV will arrive equipped with an all-wheel-drive configuration. It is visually verified by a distinct 'QWD' (Quad Wheel Drive) badge on the rear quarter glass window. The vehicle becomes Tata’s second electric model to feature an AWD layout.

Heritage-Inspired Design and Expected Features

The teaser material indicates that the production-ready Sierra EV will retain the general profile and boxy proportions of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. Notably, it preserves the signature nostalgic wraparound rear glass area that directly references the heritage of the original 1990s model. To establish clear model differentiation, Tata has introduced several specific aesthetic changes across the bodywork.

Tata Sierra EV Key design and visual highlights from the official material include:

  • Distinctive Emblems: The body features dedicated 'Sierra.EV' branding on the tailgate alongside 'Tata.EV' badges neatly stamped on the front door panels.
  • Redesigned Fascia: The front profile incorporates a completely closed-off grille section, a revised lower bumper, and specialized vertically stacked LED fog lamps.
  • Premium Interior: The cabin is expected to feature a triple-screen display, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and level 2 ADAS driver assistance systems.

Shared Acti.ev+ Architecture and Premium Cabin Features

The upcoming model utilizes Tata Motors' advanced Acti.ev+ platform architecture. This is built to support multiple drivetrain configurations, fast-charging protocols and level 2 ADAS functions. While baseline specifications remain unconfirmed, the midsize SUV is projected to inherit battery configurations from the larger flagship EV range. This includes expected battery choices spanning from 55kWh up to 75kWh, delivering an estimated driving range between 500km and 550km.

Inside, the premium interior layout replicates the cabin architecture of top-tier ICE models. The following table gives the highlighted features.
