MG Motor India has reported a steady start to the new financial year with registering 6,018 units in Apr-26 sales. This performance represents a 3.2% year-on-year growth compared to the 5,829 units sold in April 2025. The growth continues to be supported by the brand’s strong electric vehicle (EV) portfolio and the popularity of the Hector SUV.
While MG Motor maintained a positive year-on-year trajectory, the monthly figures saw a cooling effect compared to the previous month. The 6,018 units sold in April reflect a 7.8% month-on-month decline from the 6,528 units in March 2026. This sequential dip is largely attributed to the high base effect of the previous month and the general industry trend of stabilizing demand at the beginning of a new fiscal year.

MG Motor India continues to solidify its position as a leader in the passenger EV segment. The company’s "EV-first" strategy, led by models like the Windsor, Comet and ZS EV, accounts for a significant portion. In addition to its electric lineup, MG has been focusing on enhancing its digital-first customer experience. Also, it is expanding its service network across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to better support services in India.
Despite a slight month-on-month contraction, MG Motor India's ability to maintain year-on-year growth highlights the brand's resilience in a competitive market.
