Google News

Maruti Suzuki India Limited created a new milestone in January 2026 by reporting its highest-ever monthly sales. The company sold a total of 236,963 units, which clearly shows strong demand across domestic and export markets. Compared to January 2025, when Maruti Suzuki sold 212,251 units, the growth looks impressive and steady.
Domestic Sales and Export Performance
In January 2026, Maruti Suzuki recorded 178,300 units in domestic sales. In addition, sales to other OEMs stood at 7,643 units. However, the biggest highlight came from exports. The company shipped 51,020 units overseas, which marks an all-time monthly high. This is a major jump compared to the 27,100 units exported in January 2025. Perhaps this growth shows Maruti Suzuki’s rising demand in global markets.
Utility Vehicles Lead the Domestic Market
Within India, utility vehicles performed very well. The segment sold 75,609 units, up from 65,093 units last year. Popular models such as Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6 supported this growth. As a result, utility vehicles continue to strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s position in the market.
Compact and Mini Segment Sales
At the same time, the compact segment also remained strong. Models like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Swift, and WagonR together sold 72,738 units. Meanwhile, the mini segment, which includes Alto and S-Presso, recorded sales of 14,268 units. Although numbers stayed lower here, demand remained stable.
LCV and Van Sales in January 2026
Maruti Suzuki’s light commercial vehicle Super Carry sold 3,771 units during the month. In addition, the Eeco van recorded sales of 11,914 units, showing steady demand from small businesses.
April to January FY 2025–26 Sales Overview
From April 2025 to January 2026, Maruti Suzuki achieved 1,528,146 domestic sales, including LCVs. This is higher than the 1,478,624 units sold in the same period last year. Exports also grew strongly to 361,579 units. Overall, total cumulative sales reached 1,983,467 units, which reflects continued trust in Maruti Suzuki’s wide product range across markets.
