Maruti Suzuki has officially commenced national bookings for the upcoming Brezza facelift ahead of its market debut on July 24. Customers looking to reserve the refreshed compact SUV can now do so by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. With this, booking facilities are open across the brand's premium Arena dealership network as well as through official portals.
Anticipated Powertrain Upgrades
The mid-lifecycle update introduces a notable mechanical expansion to the compact SUV lineup.
- Turbo Engine Addition: The model is expected to introduce Maruti’s 1.0-liter, three-cylinder 'Boosterjet' turbo-petrol engine.
- Output and Transmission: Borrowed from the Fronx, this motor generates 100hp and 148Nm, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
- Tax Bracket Benefits: The sub-1,200cc displacement allows select variants to qualify for a lower 18 percent GST rate.
- Existing Options Retained: The current 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and factory-fitted CNG variants will remain available.
Design and Feature Additions
Spy shots reveal clear cosmetic adjustments alongside a significantly enhanced technology package.
The exterior features revised bumpers, updated lighting setups and fresh four-spoke alloy wheels. The cabin gains a new color scheme and premium trim accents. Technology upgrades include a larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and ambient lighting. Crucially, the SUV is expected to integrate Level 2 ADAS capabilities and front parking sensors.
Competitive Market Segment
The updated vehicle will step into a highly competitive sub-four-meter space. The vehicle will directly face established segment rivals, including the Tata Nexon, which offers comprehensive turbo-petrol, diesel and EV options. Also, alongside the Mahindra XUV 3XO which is known for its high-torque turbo engines. Additionally, it will compete with the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet and the newly launched European contender, the Skoda Kylaq.
This update marks a strategic pivot for the second-generation model. By introducing a turbocharged variant, the company actively addresses a key product gap, as the vehicle was previously the only model in its class without a turbo option. The incoming mechanical and tech upgrades will help the manufacturer defend its market position against newer rivals.
