Mahindra & Mahindra reported a significant increase in its passenger vehicle segment in the month of August 2026. This month witnessed the strongest yearly growth, compared to past months (July got 20.4% while May concluded at 11%). The growth was primarily due to strong SUV demand and the recent launches.
The automotive giant delivered exceptional performance across both domestic dispatches and overall sales. Sustained market interest in newly updated models continues to strengthen the brand's position.
Mahindra Passenger Vehicles Sales YoY Growth
Mahindra cars or passenger vehicle segment recorded a high year-on-year expansion in August 2026. Domestic Utility Vehicle dispatches rose to 59,257 units from 39,399 units in August 2025, marking a 50% increase. Overall passenger vehicle exports across the auto division also jumped 71% YoY from 3,548 units to 6,054 units.

Mahindra Passenger Vehicles Sales MoM Growth
Compared to July 2026, domestic passenger vehicle sales saw a slight sequential dip of 1.32%. Domestic Utility Vehicle dispatches reached 59,257 units in August 2026, down from 60,048 units in the previous month. However, total vehicle exports experienced strong month-on-month growth of 48.75%.

The minor month-on-month shift reflects regular dispatch adjustments ahead of the major festive season buildup.

Dr Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said:
"In August, we achieved SUV sales of 59257 units delivering growth of 50%, and total vehicle sales stood at 107648, a 42% YoY growth. Demand continues to remain strong across our portfolio, with the updated Scorpio-N and BE 6 SPORTEQ receiving strong market response from customers. We look forward to building on this momentum during the festive season."
