Eighth-Gen Lexus ES 350h Enters India at Rs 66.10 Lakh

Lexus India has officially launched the eighth-generation ES 350h strong-hybrid luxury sedan on July 15. Bookings for the locally assembled vehicle have opened across the country. Good news is that the luxury sedan is being manufactured locally in India, which may bring down the price a bit. A realistic example in that regard is that the brand’s previous model - 500e was priced 89.99 lakh, 23.89 Lakh more expensive.
Powertrain Dynamics and Pricing Structure
The new sedan introduces updated styling and dimension changes over its predecessor. The vehicle is built upon the TNGA GA-K platform. It measures 170mm longer and 55mm wider than the previous generation.
The strong-hybrid system pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. Power is routed through an electronically controlled e-CVT gearbox. The setup delivers a combined system output of 244hp. It achieves 0-100kph acceleration in a claimed 7.7 seconds.
The vehicle arrives in two specific trims alongside the existing all-electric ES 500e. Prices see an increase of Rs 2.10 lakh compared to the previous-gen version.

Design Upgrades and Cabin Technology
The design abandons the traditional spindle grille for a sealed-off front fascia. The aesthetic follows the brand's 'Provocative Simplicity' design philosophy.
- The exterior features a fastback roofline and distinct 'twin L-signature' LED lamps.
- The wheelbase has grown by 80mm to maximize interior rear cabin room.
- The dashboard features a 14-inch floating touchscreen with proximity-sensing illuminated control switches.
- Safety tech includes 10 airbags, radar-guided cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.
Market Positioning
The luxury sedan continues its local assembly operations within the Indian domestic market. This helps Lexus maintain competitive price brackets against traditional rivals.
The ES 350h targets established executive premium models like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Audi A6. It positions itself uniquely by offering electrified strong-hybrid alternatives where German competitors rely on conventional powertrains. The pricing strategy aims to capture buyers looking for lower running costs within the executive luxury space.
