Google News

Hyundai Motor India has achieved a significant sales milestone with its popular compact SUV, the Venue. The vehicle has officially surpassed the 8,00,000 unit cumulative sales mark in the domestic automotive market. Since its introduction in the Indian market, the model’s sales has accounted for around 36% of overall Hyundai’s sales in India.

The recent achievement places the Venue in a highly selective band of successful passenger vehicles. It has secured a definitive podium position among competing compact SUVs currently retailing in the country.
- Third Compact SUV: The Venue becomes the third compact SUV to surpass this milestone, following the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon.
- Internal Company Rankings: This is the second Hyundai model to cross this threshold, sitting right behind the larger Creta midsize SUV.
- Export Volume: In addition to domestic sales, Hyundai has exported over 55,000 units, pushing international cumulative sales past 8.5 lakh units.

Sales Progression and New Generation Boost
The first-generation Venue originally debuted in May 2019, quickly gathering market momentum by securing 50,000 sales within its initial six months. The model crossed the half-million milestone in late 2023.
- The Generation Shift: The introduction of the second-generation model acted as a major catalyst for the sub-four-metre vehicle.
- Accelerated Growth: The final 1,00,000 units of the total sales figure were recorded over a swift nine-month period.
- Monthly Average: Monthly domestic sales have surged to average 11,637 units, representing a healthy 23 percent year-on-year growth rate.
Strong performance during the opening months of the fiscal year indicates potential for historic annual volumes. This commercial success establishes the Venue as a foundational product for Hyundai’s sustained expansion strategy.
