Google News

Hyundai has released a new teaser of the next-generation i20, revealing more details about the hatchback's interior ahead of its global debut. The latest teaser confirms that the upcoming model will feature a large 12.3-inch integrated display that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.
The new i20 is expected to make its global debut next month, with Hyundai likely to showcase the hatchback during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The company has already shared a teaser showcasing the next-generation Hyundai i20's lighting design, while recent shots have revealed several new features.
New Cabin To Get Modern Technology And Features
The biggest highlight of the latest teaser is the dual-screen setup. Similar to Hyundai's latest models, the system combines the infotainment display and driver's digital cluster within one housing. The 12.3-inch screen is expected to support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Hyundai Bluelink connected car technology, built-in navigation, and a reverse camera display.
The brand has also confirmed that the climate control system will use touch-sensitive controls. This setup is similar to what is seen on the new Venue and Verna, giving the hatchback a more premium cabin experience.
Exterior Design To Receive Major Changes
The next-generation i20 is expected to receive one of the biggest design updates in the model's history. Previous teasers and spy images suggest a completely redesigned front fascia with new headlamps and Y-shaped LED daytime running lights. The lighting design appears to take inspiration from modern high-performance sports cars.
The hatchback is also expected to feature a fresh silhouette with a slightly crossover-inspired stance, a flatter bonnet, revised window line, and newly designed LED tail lamps. These changes could help the i20 stand out against rivals in the premium hatchback segment.
Engine Options And Expected India Launch
Inside the cabin, the new i20 is likely to offer rear AC vents, three adjustable rear headrests, improved interior materials, and several comfort features. Higher variants could get leatherette upholstery, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera system, automatic transmission options, and Level 2 ADAS technology.
Powertrain options will vary depending on the market. Brazil is expected to receive 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and 1.0-litre turbo petrol flex-fuel engines. If the model arrives in India, Hyundai could continue offering the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit for N Line versions. Hyundai is expected to unveil the new i20 in the coming weeks, with the hatchback likely to come to India in 2027.
