BYD eMAX 7 Gets New Comfort Variant With 71.8 kWh Battery

BYD India has launched a new Comfort variant for the eMAX 7 electric MPV. The new model is priced at Rs. 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with a 71.8 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 485 km. In addition, BYD has increased prices for select electric vehicle variants with immediate effect.

New Comfort Variant Expands the eMAX 7 Lineup

The new Comfort variant sits between the Premium and Superior trims. It offers a balance of features, battery range and pricing for buyers.

Key Highlights

  • New Battery Pack: The Comfort variant uses a 71.8 kWh battery with a claimed MIDC range of 485 km.
  • Position in Lineup: It is priced Rs. 1 lakh above the Premium variant and Rs. 1.40 lakh below the Superior variant.
  • Feature Changes: The variant misses Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a powered tailgate.
  • Other Missing Features: Automatic headlamps and frameless wipers are also unavailable on this variant.

Despite these changes, the Comfort variant offers a practical option for buyers seeking a long driving range.

BYD Announces Price Hike Across EV Portfolio

Along with the new variant, BYD has revised prices across select electric vehicle models. The company has increased prices by Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh, depending on the variant. The revised prices take effect immediately.

BYD said rising input costs and changing global market conditions led to the latest price revision. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles at BYD India, said the company continues to invest in technology, customer experience, and network expansion. He also added that BYD remains committed to offering advanced and sustainable mobility solutions for Indian customers.

DM-i Hybrid Technology Coming Soon

BYD plans to strengthen its product portfolio later this year. The company will introduce its DM-i plug-in hybrid technology in India. The upcoming BYD Seal U SUV will become the first model to feature this technology in the country.

With the launch of the new Comfort variant, BYD has expanded the eMAX 7 lineup for Indian buyers. Furthermore, the company continues to prepare new technologies and products for the growing electric mobility market.
