BMW Group India Posts 17% Sales Growth in H1 2026

BMW Group India has recorded its highest ever first half sales in the country. The company sold 9,075 cars between January and June 2026, registering a 17% year on year growth. Moreover, strong demand for electric vehicles, SUVs, and long wheelbase models helped the luxury carmaker achieve this milestone.
Electric Vehicles Drive Strong Growth
BMW continued to strengthen its position in India's luxury EV segment during the first six months of 2026.
Key Sales Highlights
- 9,075 Cars Sold: BMW and MINI together sold 9,075 cars in H1 2026.
- 17% Growth: Overall sales increased by 17% compared to H1 2025.
- 2,359 EVs Delivered: Electric vehicle sales grew by 78% year on year.
- 69% Market Share: BMW retained its leadership in the luxury EV segment.
- 26% EV Contribution: One out of every four cars sold was an electric vehicle.
The company also achieved its best ever second quarter performance by delivering 4,507 vehicles.

SUVs and Long Wheelbase Models Remain Popular
BMW's Sports Activity Vehicle lineup continued to attract strong customer demand. The company sold 5,926 SUVs during H1 2026. This segment recorded a 35% year on year increase. SUVs also contributed 65% of BMW Group India's total sales.
Long wheelbase models also performed well. BMW delivered 4,428 long wheelbase vehicles during the same period. Sales in this category increased by 24% and contributed 52% of passenger vehicle sales.
MINI and BMW Motorrad Report Healthy Performance
MINI delivered 504 vehicles during the first half of 2026. The brand registered an impressive 70% year on year growth. The recently launched MINI Countryman C received a strong customer response. Meanwhile, limited edition MINI models sold out quickly.
BMW Motorrad also delivered 2,327 motorcycles during H1 2026. Popular models included the S 1000 RR, F 900 GS, and R 1300 GS. Furthermore, deliveries of the new F 450 GS started in June.
More Product Launches Planned
BMW introduced 11 new products during the first half of 2026 across its BMW, MINI, and Motorrad brands. The company now plans to launch another 14 products before the end of the year. With strong EV demand, growing SUV sales, and an expanding product lineup, BMW Group India looks well-positioned to maintain its growth momentum in the luxury vehicle segment.
