Tata Motors has launched the all-new 2025 Tata Sierra SUV, bringing back the famous Sierra name after more than two decades. The earlier Sierra left the market in 2003, and now it returns in a modern avatar with new styling and fresh engines. Interested buyers can book the new Sierra from December 16, 2025, while deliveries will start from January 15, 2026.
In addition, Tata offers the new Sierra in bright and fresh colours such as Bengal Rouge, Andaman Adventure, Coorg Clouds, Munnar Mist, Mintal Grey, and Pristine White. In the Indian SUV segment, the Sierra competes with strong players like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, along with other popular models. The new Tata Sierra comes with seven variants: Smart Plus, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Adventure Plus, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus.
Tata has announced prices for all variants except the top two trims. The current price of the Sierra starts at Rs 11.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.49 lakh for the Adventure Plus variant (ex-showroom).
Perhaps this pricing places the Sierra slightly above some base models of its rivals. However, it still stays within a competitive range for buyers looking for a fresh SUV.
The Hyundai Creta comes with a wide range of variants, which include: E, EX, EX(O), S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, SX(O), and Knight Edition.
The Hyundai Creta price starts from Rs 10.7 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.2 lakh (ex-showroom). In addition, Hyundai offers feature-rich trims across this wide price spread, which gives buyers many choices.
The Kia Seltos also offers multiple trims, such as HTE(O), HTK, HTK(O), HTK Plus(O), HTX, HTX(O), GTX Plus, and X-Line.
The price of the Seltos starts at Rs 10.8 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.8 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the Seltos stays close to the Creta in both pricing and variant spread.
Tata offers the new Sierra with three engine choices:
Moreover, Tata has confirmed that the company will soon launch an AWD version of the Sierra.
Both the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos share the same engine options:
In addition, both SUVs offer multiple gearbox options such as 6-speed manual, iMT, CVT (iVT), 6-speed automatic, and 7-speed DCT.
