Tata Punch Surpasses 8 Lakh Unit Domestic Sales Milestone

The Tata Punch has officially crossed the 8 lakh domestic sales milestone in India since its October 2021 launch. This achievement makes it the fastest compact SUV to reach the mark, achieving the cumulative volume in just over 57 months.

Sales Acceleration and Market Performance

The compact SUV recorded its latest 1 lakh sales segment in less than five months. It is now the second SUV in Tata Motors’ current passenger vehicle line-up to cross this mark, following the Nexon.

• Quarterly Milestone: The Punch was India's top-selling SUV in the first quarter of FY2027, dispatching 60,321 units.
• Peak Dispatches: The vehicle hit its highest-ever individual monthly wholesale volume in June 2026, reaching 21,006 units.
• Volume Growth: Combined sales include petrol, factory-fitted CNG and pure electric powertrain variants of the vehicle.

Lineup Expansion and Pricing

A mid-cycle facelift launched in January updated the sub-four-meter vehicle with exterior revisions and new features. The expansion to 32 distinct variants has sustained robust buyer demand across competitive market tiers.

The current portfolio starts at Rs 5.70 lakh for the base petrol. The alternate-fuel CNG trims start at Rs 6.80 lakh, while the refreshed Punch EV starts at Rs 9.69 lakh.

The Tata Punch reached the 8 lakh milestone significantly faster than direct segment competitors like the Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue. A multi-powertrain strategy combined with regular feature updates remains central to maintaining the compact SUV's strong sales momentum.
