Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Sales Grow 47% in January 2026

Tata Motors has started 2026 on a strong note by crossing 71,000 passenger car sales in January 2026. This performance clearly shows growing customer trust in the brand. In total, Tata Motors sold 71,066 units during the month. Out of this, 70,222 units came from the Indian market, while 844 units were sold in international markets.

Tata Motors Jan 2026 Sales Records 47% MoM Growth
Tata Motors recorded a 47.1 percent growth in January 2026 compared to 48,316 units sold in December 2025. This sharp rise highlights strong buying sentiment at the start of the year.
Moreover, electric vehicles also played an important role. Tata Motors sold 9,052 EVs globally in January 2026. This figure is over 72 percent higher than its EV sales in December 2025. However, the company continues to balance both ICE and EV models well, which helps it reach a wider customer base.
Nexon and Punch Set New Sales Records
The Tata Nexon recorded its highest ever monthly sales in January 2026 with over 23,000 units sold. With this achievement, the Nexon has also crossed the 10 lakh cumulative sales milestone, which marks a major success for the SUV.
Similarly, the Tata Punch delivered an outstanding performance with over 19,000 units sold in a single month. In addition, the Punch has crossed 7 lakh cumulative sales, making it one of the fastest-selling cars in the industry.
Meanwhile, the Tata Tiago also reached an important milestone by crossing 7 lakh cumulative sales, further strengthening Tata’s hatchback lineup.
New Launches Driving Customer Interest
According to Tata Motors, customer interest remains strong in new and updated models. These include the Sierra, petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari, and the facelifted Punch. Therefore, Tata Motors has increased Sierra’s production to meet rising demand.
