Mumbai, June 01, 2026: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPVL) announced an outstanding performance for May 2026, strengthening its stronghold as India's second-largest automaker. The massive surge across its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with an already established internal combustion engine (ICE) portfolio is behind driving its sales. Not only the domestic, but the brand achieved strong volume spikes across overseas channels also.
Tata Passenger Vehicle Performance (May 2026)
In the domestic market, Tata Motors witnessed an aggressive year-on-year sales acceleration. The automaker recorded 59,090 units in domestic wholesales, yielding a 42.19% growth over the 41,557 units dispatched in May 2025. Total passenger vehicle volumes reached 59,790 units as global export orders also registered 700 units sales.

On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, Tata Motors maintained highly stable sales volumes. From 59,701 units in April 2026 to 59,790 units in May, the company logged 0.15% MoM growth. Crucially, the biggest story of the month comes from its green car operations the electric vehicle vertical. It achieved a historic milestone by crossing the 10,000-unit monthly dispatch mark for the first time. EV volumes reached 10,517 units, an 85% jump year-on-year.
