Renault India has officially disclosed the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figures for the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol variants of the all-new Duster. This revelation follows the SUV's recent launch at an introductory price of ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) on 17th March.
The 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, developed in collaboration with Nissan and Daimler, remains the centerpiece of the performance strategy. It produces a strong 160bhp and 280Nm torque, positioning it as one of the most powerful options in the mid-size SUV segment.
The revealed mileage figures suggest that Renault has prioritized thermal efficiency alongside the 1.3-litre engine's high power output. While the 18.45kmpl for the DCT is impressive for a turbo-petrol SUV, real-world figures will naturally vary. This is based on driving conditions and traffic density. The sales numbers would provide a critical benchmark for buyers comparing the Duster against Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The focus now shifts to the 1.8-litre hybrid, which is expected to target the 25kmpl+ territory later this year.
