MG Majestor India Launch Confirmed for April 20
Google News

MG Motor India has officially announced the launch of its premium SUV - MG Majestor, on April 20, 2026. Positioned as the brand’s new flagship internal combustion engine (ICE) model, the Majestor will be positioned above the Gloster. That said, it is set to compete against established rivals like Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tayron and Skoda Kodiaq. Bookings are currently open for a token amount of ₹41,000, with deliveries expected to commence in May.
Powertrain and Off-Road Capability
The MG Majestor is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel engine. This is inspired by a higher-spec variant of the Gloster. This engine delivers 215 hp and 478.5 Nm of peak torque, paired exclusively with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
To distinguish itself in the full-size SUV segment, MG has equipped the Majestor with a sophisticated 4WD system featuring "M-Hub" terrain management. This includes a segment-first triple differential locking system (front, center, and rear) and "M-Crawl" control for low-speed navigation in difficult terrain. The vehicle also features a water-wading capacity of 810 mm and 219 mm of ground clearance.

It will be available in two primary trims: Sharp and Savvy, with the latter offering both six- and seven-seat configurations.
Inside, the SUV features a redesigned dashboard with dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and digital instrumentation. The flagship Savvy trim includes luxury amenities such as:
- Comfort: 12-way powered driver seat with memory, 8-level massage functions, and ventilated front seats.
- Technology: 12-speaker JBL sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, and i-SMART 2.0 with 75+ connected features.

The MG Majestor enters the market as a direct competitor to the Toyota Fortuner Legender and Jeep Meridian. Official pricing, expected to range between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom), will decide its market competitiveness.
