April 24, 2026: The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is launching in India today. With this update, Mercedes-Benz brings back the CLA badge in a new electric form. Earlier, the petrol version was discontinued in 2020. Now, the brand introduces this model as one of its most accessible premium sedans in the lineup.
Bookings for the model have already opened ahead of the official price reveal. Meanwhile, buyers across the country are closely watching this launch. In addition, the new CLA EV targets customers who want a stylish electric sedan with a long range and modern features.
The CLA EV comes with a coupe-style design that looks sporty and modern. At the front, it features a gloss-black closed grille with illuminated star elements, which gives it a strong road presence. Moreover, sleek LED headlamps connect with a thin light strip, adding a sharp look.
At the rear, a full-width LED light bar connects the tail lamps, creating a clean and premium design. From the side, the car looks smooth and futuristic with flush door handles and 18-inch AMG alloy wheels.
Customers can choose from colour options like Clear Blue, Polar White, Cosmic Black, Alpine Grey, and Patagonia Red.
Inside, the CLA EV offers a modern and tech-focused cabin layout. It comes with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In addition, some global versions also include a front passenger display.
The car also features electrically adjustable and heated front seats with memory function. Moreover, it includes a panoramic glass roof, automatic climate control, and touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel. Premium materials on the dashboard and centre console enhance the overall cabin feel.
On the safety side, the CLA EV includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. In addition, it supports Level 2 ADAS features, which assist during driving.
Reports suggest that the model has received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, which shows its strong safety performance.
The India version is likely to come in the CLA 250+ variant. It uses an 85 kWh battery pack with a rear-mounted electric motor. This setup produces around 268 hp and 335 Nm torque.
Moreover, the car uses a two-speed transmission, which helps balance performance and efficiency. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6.7 seconds.
The CLA EV offers a claimed driving range of up to 792 km on a single charge. This makes it one of the longest-range electric sedans in its segment.
In addition, it supports fast charging up to 240 kW. With this feature, the car can gain around 400 km of range in just 20 minutes, which makes it practical for both city and long drives.
