Google News

After several delays and an India unveiling in late 2025, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will officially arrive this February, 2026. The SUV is Maruti’s first fully electric model for the Indian market, targeting drivers who prefer eco-friendly options. Test drives are expected to start soon, giving buyers the chance to experience its quiet engine, smooth suspension, and modern cabin features. The official pricing will be announced ahead of deliveries, which will be available through Nexa dealerships across the country.
Competition in the EV Segment
Maruti Suzuki will compete with EV models such as Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG Windsor EV, VinFast VF 6, and Hyundai Creta Electric. The pricing will play a major role in attracting buyers, while Maruti aims to provide a balance of range, features, and cabin space suitable for Indian customers. The e Vitara launch marks the company’s first serious step into the electric vehicle market in India.
Variants, Battery Options, & Driving Range
The e Vitara will come in three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The Delta variant will use a 49kWh battery, offering enough range for daily commuting and short trips. The Zeta and Alpha variants will receive a larger 61kWh battery, supporting longer drives on highways or longer city routes. Maruti claims the SUV can travel up to 543km on a single charge. In addition, fast charging support allows the battery to reach a useful level quickly, making recharging easier for frequent drivers.
Safety, Technology, & Comfort Features
The e Vitara has received a five-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test, confirming its safety credentials. It will also feature ADAS, which includes lane assist, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control for added assistance during driving. The cabin offers a touchscreen infotainment system, connected car functions, and spacious seating for passengers. The ride is quiet and smooth, while the interior provides a comfortable environment for both short trips and long journeys.
