Mahindra Thar Roxx Star EDN Launched in India at Rs 16.85 Lakh

Mahindra has added a fresh highlight to its SUV portfolio with the launch of the Thar Roxx Star EDN. This new variant brings a stronger focus on style and cabin comfort, which makes the Roxx range feel more premium than before. This bike is priced at an introductory Rs. 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom. With this launch, Mahindra continues to widen the appeal of the Roxx lineup in the lifestyle SUV space.
Bold Exterior Styling Sets It Apart
The Thar Roxx Star EDN stands out mainly due to its visual upgrades. At the front, the SUV now gets a piano black grille, which gives it a sharper and more refined look. Matching piano black alloy wheels further enhance its road presence. In addition, Mahindra has introduced a new Citrine Yellow paint shade as the signature colour for this edition.
Buyers can also pick from other popular shades such as Tango Red, Everest White, and Stealth Black. These colour choices, along with the dark exterior elements, create a strong contrast that makes the Star EDN instantly recognizable.
Perhaps, these updates may seem cosmetic, yet they play a big role in giving the SUV a more exclusive identity. However, the rugged stance and boxy shape that Thar fans love remain unchanged.
Cabin Focuses on Comfort and Technology
Inside, the Star EDN receives notable improvements. The cabin now features all-black leatherette upholstery with suede touches, giving it a richer feel. In addition, ventilated front seats, a sliding front armrest, and rear seats with a 60:40 split and recline function improve comfort for long drives. There’s also a panoramic sunroof and fully automatic climate control add to the premium experience.
The SUV comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and AdrenoX connected car tech with Alexa integration. Moreover, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and a surround-view camera enhance convenience and entertainment.
Familiar Engines With Proven Performance
Mechanically, Mahindra has retained the same engine options from the standard Roxx. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivers 176bhp and comes only with an automatic gearbox. Meanwhile, the 2.2-litre diesel engine offers 172bhp with both manual and automatic transmission choices. All Star EDN variants use rear-wheel drive, staying true to the Thar’s driving character.
