Google News

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that their sales for Electric SUV lineups has crossed the 41,000 mark. This includes their born electric car models like XEV 9E and BE6. The company also presented the fact that the vehicles’ in-total ride touched 32 crore kilometers.
Let’s walk through the milestone in-detail and know more about the models.
Rapid Adoption & Market Performance
The rise in sales reflects the changing preferences of Indian buyers, from traditional vehicles to home developed EVs. Mahindra has now transitioned the position of its e-SUVs from niche offering to mainstream contenders. Since their market debut, the XEV 9e & BE 6 have captured a significant share of the mid-to-high-end EV segment. Industry analysts point toward several factors contributing to this sales momentum:
Sophisticated Tech - Features such as the triple-screen dashboard and Level 2+ ADAS have appealed to tech-conscious buyers.
Infrastructure Growth: Mahindra’s strategic partnerships for charging networks have alleviated range anxiety for new adopters.
Brand Loyalty: A strong existing customer base transitioning from ICE SUVs like the XUV700 and Scorpio-N to electric alternatives.
Engineering & Design Factors
The XEV 9e and BE 6 are two main representatives of Mahindra’s premium e-SUVs. The XEV 9e targets luxury lovers while BE 6 captures younger audiences with its aggressive and "sport-electric" styling. Both vehicles utilize the INGLO platform, which allows for rapid charging capabilities and high-density battery packs.
Key technical features include:
Battery Versatility: Three different battery packs - 59 kWh, 70 and 79 kWh, providing 500+ kms range on a single charge.
Charging Efficiency: Both models support ultra-fast DC charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes.
Performance Metrics: Rear-wheel-drive configurations delivering up to 280 PS of power, ensuring the vehicles meet the performance expectations of the SUV segment.
Crossing the 41,000-unit mark serves as a validation of Mahindra’s heavy investment in indigenous EV technology. With a huge order bank and increasing production capacity, Mahindra’s vision to lead India’s EV market is now becoming reality.
