New Kia Syros EV Spotted Undisguised Ahead of India Launch

Kia India's upcoming Syros EV has been spotted without camouflage before its official launch. The electric SUV was reportedly seen during a television commercial shoot in Bengaluru. Moreover, the latest images reveal the production-ready design. Earlier reports had also revealed its expected battery options and claimed driving range.

Production Design Fully Revealed

The latest sighting gives the clearest look yet at the upcoming electric SUV.

Key Exterior Highlights

  • Closed Front Fascia: The EV replaces the traditional grille with a clean closed-off design.
  • Front Charging Port: Kia has integrated the charging port into the front nose.
  • EV Specific Bumpers: Both bumpers receive unique silver inserts.
  • Aero Alloy Wheels: New aerodynamic alloy wheels help improve efficiency.
  • Signature LED Lighting: The vertically stacked LED DRLs and headlamps remain unchanged.
  • Familiar Rear Design: The SUV retains its upright tailgate and vertical LED tail lamps.

These updates give the Syros EV a modern look while preserving its familiar styling.

Cabin Expected to Offer Familiar Layout

One image also provides a partial view of the interior through the windshield. Although reflections hide most details, the dashboard appears similar to the petrol-powered Syros. The SUV is expected to feature a large integrated display for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Kia may also offer connected technology and several premium convenience features.

Two Battery Options Likely

Kia has not officially confirmed the specifications. However, reports suggest the Syros EV could share its battery technology with the Hyundai Creta EV and Kia Carens Clavis EV. The entry variant may use a 42 kWh battery pack. It could deliver a claimed driving range of up to 443 km. A larger 51.4 kWh battery pack is also expected. This version may offer a claimed range of up to 520 km. The lighter body could help the Syros EV achieve better efficiency than its siblings.

Warranty and Launch Expectations

Recent reports also suggest Kia could offer a 15 year or lifetime battery warranty. The company may provide a standard three year vehicle warranty. Buyers could also receive an extended warranty of up to seven years or 1.6 lakh kilometres. In addition, Kia is expected to introduce a buyback assurance programme.

The Syros EV is likely to launch in the coming weeks. It could arrive before the Kia Sorento Hybrid enters the Indian market. With its fresh design, practical battery options, and expected long warranty coverage, the Kia Syros EV aims to strengthen the brand's growing electric vehicle lineup in India.
