Google News

Kia India has kicked off the new financial year on a high note, recording its best-ever April sales operations in India. The company dispatched 27,286 units in the domestic market, marking 15.5% YoY growth compared to April 2025. This surge was largely driven by the continued popularity of the Seltos and Sonet, which are popular models among Indian buyers.
YoY and MoM Sales Growth Analysis
The OEM registered a significant jump from the 23,623 units sold in April 2025, reaching a milestone of 27,286 units. While the year-on-year figures showed double-digit growth, the monthly performance saw a slight cooling of 6.27% compared to March 2026. This is where the company had recorded 29,112 units last month. This seasonal fluctuation is typical as the industry transitions into the first month of the new financial year.

Strong Year-to-Date Momentum and Market Milestones
Beyond the monthly performance, Kia India has maintained a steady upward trajectory on a year-to-date (YTD) basis. The company has recorded a 13% growth in cumulative sales for the first four months of 2026. This is observed when compared to the same period last year.
This consistent growth recently led to cross 1.5 million domestic sales within just seven years of its Indian operations. The brand’s premium positioning and focus on safety-rated SUVs remain the primary drivers for this sustained success.
The record-breaking April performance underscores the brand’s resilient market position despite a minor sequential dip. With an ever-expanding network of touchpoints across the country, the brand aims to grow throughout the 2026 financial year.
